I wish you and your families a very happy Thanksgiving. Our next meeting will be held on Friday, November 20 at which we’ll hold elections for Division officers as well as two Hibernian House officers. Many thanks are due to all the members who volunteered to help out the Ladies at their Dancing Like the Stars Fundraiser. Congratulations to Ed O’Dea for running a very successful Lourdes Kids of Rockland Golf Outing and many thanks to all the members who worked at and supported it. Rockland was well represented at the Downstate and State Board meetings. I’ll fill you in at the next meeting. Thanks to all the cookers, workers, volunteers, and supporters for our first Pot O’Gold drawing party, especially Bill and Trish Lee.
Dan Callanan reports the following Good and Welfare News…Please say a prayer for the repose of the souls of “Trapper Jack” Ryan, Tom Fennell’s father Tobias , and Dennis Madigan’s mother Eileen. Please say a prayer for the recoveries of Denis Troy who suffered a fractured skull while on vacation and is recovering at home, Jim Doherty who had another stent implanted and is undergoing dialysis, Phil Sheridan’s bride Linda who has been hit with severe back spasms due to nerve problems, Fred Tomkins who just received a new knee at New York Hospital, and our chaplain Msgr. O’Keefe who is recovering in Michigan. Congratulations to Father Brian Taylor who has been transferred to the Vatican to study Canonical Law. A reminder that our Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Luncheon on November 21st and our Christmas Parties on December 13th are golden opportunities for our high schoolers to earn a couple of community service chits.
As always, please remember to say an extra prayer or two for our wounded warriors and their families.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Dermot O’Connor Moore, President
