Our next meeting will be held on Friday, November 18 at which we’ll hold elections for Division officers. Welcome aboard to new member Dan Martin. There will be a joint county board meeting on November 15 to elect the Grand Marshal for the 2012 parade in Pearl River and the Aide to Grand Marshal for the NYC parade. Our own Ray Sheridan is running for Grand Marshal. We need all our delegates to attend to ensure we get our proper representation. There will be a Hibernian house meeting on December 23 at which important issues will be addressed, including elections of House officers and a vote as to whether or not a smoking ban will be instituted in the pub. Please see the Hibernian House article by Phil Sheridan for more details.
Congratulations to National Vice President and Division 3 member Brendan Moore who received the endorsement of the NYS board for his run for the presidency this June.
Many thanks to Phil and Linda Sheridan who cooked for two days for our Pot O’Gold 1st drawing party as well as Bill and Trish Lee and all our volunteers. All winners are back in the hopper for our grand prize drawing in December. If you haven’t done so yet , you can still get a ticket but you better move fast to support our major fund raiser and the best deal in town.
Dan Callanan reports the following Good and Welfare news: Please say a prayer for the peaceful repose of the souls of Joe Shea and Pete Flynn’s dad, Vincent. A couple of other guys can use your prayers and good thoughts; Frank Reilly had his gall bladder removed, Brendan Malley had a very serious car accident and is in an induced coma in West Palm Beach Medical Center, and Ray Gallagher is scheduled for cataract surgery. Congratulations to Joe Moran who has been appointed as the Orangetown Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Management and Engineering…another Manhattan College Jasper who done good. Congratulations to Terence Moore on his graduation from basic training at Lackland AFB.
Please keep our troops in your prayers.
Yours in Friendship, Unity & Christian Charity,
Dermot O’Connor Moore, President
