I hope you’re all enjoying your summer. Our next meeting will be held on Friday, September 23. Welcome aboard to new members and associates. Get your Pot O’ Gold tickets now, this is our major fund raiser and the best deal around. Our family picnic will be on Saturday, September 17 and our dance will be on Friday evening October 7. Please read the articles in this newsletter for more details.
Thanks to all who made the State Convention at the Hilton such a rousing success. It would be impossible to list all of the volunteers but Chris Gallagher earned his spot in heaven as our beverage chairman and he also did another fantastic job running a very successful Saratoga trip. Congratulations to all our members who took their major degree in July and to Neil Cosgrove for organizing it. Thanks for your patience with all the renovations at the Hibernian House but I’m sure you’ll agree that it was well worth it when you look at our new lobby, beautiful stairway, and elevator. Our resident stone mason big Johnny “O” really did a great job.
Congratulations on their elections to Vince Tyer to State Director and to Bill Lee to County Treasurer.
Please say a prayer for the peaceful repose of the souls of Pat Wilock, Mike Dempsey’s mom Margaret, Kevin Bourke’s mom Grace, and Billy Mulcahy’s mother-in-law Pilar Sanday. Warren Hennessey has completed his radiation regimen at Hackensack, Connie Smith appears to be finally putting on some weight, frank duffy reports that neighbor Pete McGovern is doing well after his second surgery, Jim Doyle is making great progress, Frank McDonagh’s bride Mary has started treatment and he says her attitude is great, John Ovinchinnikoff’s dad is recovering at home after surgery, and Joe Shea is finally back at home and please keep him in your prayers as he continues to battle his illness.
Never forget the sacrifices that our troops are making or of those of the brave souls who perished ten years ago on September 11, 2001.
Yours in Friendship, Unity & Christian Charity,
Dermot O’Connor Moore, President
