Our next meeting will be held on Friday, December 23rd at 7:30. Weâll turn the floor over to Phil Sheridan at 8pm for a Hibernian House meeting and a vote about a smoking ban in the pub. Welcome aboard to new members Kevin King, Matt Reid, and Tom Scollan. At our last meeting all of the current Division officers were re-elected, congratulations to you all and thanks for your hard work. Congratulations to Ray Sheridan who was elected as the Grand Marshal for the 2012 Rockland County St. Patrickâs Day Parade. Many thanks to Pat Tully for running another successful Poker Classic and to Jack OâConnor, Larry DeGennaro, Dan Callanan, Larry Connell and all the many volunteers for a great job at our Thanksgiving Senior Citizen Luncheon. Youâd best hurry if you havenât gotten your Pot OâGold ticket because the final drawing will be held on December 18th.
Dan Callanan reports the following Good and Welfare news: Please pray for the repose of Donny Lyverâs brother, Jack and for the recovery of Larry McKeever and Neil Cosgroveâs brother-in-law Steve Amonica.
A special thanks goes out to all who hosted and worked our Thanksgiving Seniors luncheon, especially our high school waiters. You guys deserve atta boys for the contributions to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program again this year. Brendan Malleyâs bride Maureen reports he has begun the long road to recovery from his auto accident and Connie Smith looked like a million dollars as he worked at the seniors luncheon. Pete Dunne outdid his previous efforts running the âFreeze Your Arse Offâ again this year. The turkeys by Russ Pogeweit and the chili, dawgs and burgers by Billy Ford sure hit the spot for all the attendees who looked a lot like a reunion of the cast of âOne Flew over the Cuckoos Nestâ.
I wish you and your families a very Merry and Blessed Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year. Please keep our troops in your prayers.
Yours in Friendship, Unity & Christian Charity,
Dermot OâConnor Moore, President
