Our next meeting will be held on Friday, December 17. At our last meeting we welcomed aboard new members Brian Moore and Brian Gleason and held our
elections. All of the current officers were re-elected. Congratulations to Frank McDonagh on his election as Aide to Grand Marshal of the 2011 NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade and to Rich Windram and Jim Walsh who were chosen to be Businessmen of the Year at the 2011 Emerald Ball. Many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped Jack O’Connor, Larry DeGennaro, and Larry Connell make our Senior Citizen’s Luncheon such a success and to Bill Lee , Phil and Linda Sheridan and crew for running a great Pot O’Gold first drawing party. There’s still a few tickets left for a shot at the grand prize on December 19 so don’t miss out, get your ticket now.
Dan Callanan reports the following Good and Welfare news… Please say a prayer for the repose of the soul of Mary Robinson, the bride of a very active deceased member, Robbie, both of whom were what can be referred to as “good people”. Pete Dunne was due for a knee replacement which had to be cancelled due to a blockage in his chest which reared its ugly head on the third hole at the Psych Center in the form of severe shortness of breath. These symptoms may be a result of his desire to jump out of perfectly good airplanes as a youth serving in the Airborne. Pete’s heart operation was successful and he’s recovering at Englewood Hospital. Bob McBride is recovering well at home after an emergency op to remove a pesky gall bladder. Pat Moroney had a hip replacement and is also recovering well at home…what a guy will do to shave a stroke from his game when he’s already the champeen of Rockland and County Clare. Charlie Murphy has beat a serious bout of gout. Dan Callanan is booked for open heart surgery to replace a defective valve at HSS this month and his favorite brother- in-law Pat Finnegan has requested that the docs inject Dan with some “happiness juice” while they’re at it. John Callanan and his better half Mary Lynn welcomed their fourth, Rose Maureeen, to the planet which is his parents’ 16th grandchild and Grandma Marge’s 35th great grandchild.
Have a Merry Christmas and joyous New Year and please don’t forget to say another prayer for our troops.
Yours in Friendship, Unity &
Christian Charity,
Dermot O’Connor Moore, President
