Welcome all to 2021! We hope you and your family have started your new year off healthily and happily. For those looking for the earliest signs of spring, it may be a few more weeks yet, but sunset is later than 5pm as of this last week, so we are headed in the right direction.
Our next division meeting will be held virtually this Thursday, January 28 at 7:30pm. Look for an email in the day leading up to the meeting for a link to the meeting and instructions.
Congratulations to Sean Walsh and the team for a successful 50/50 fundraiser, culminating with the drawing on December 19. See the article following on the details, but many thanks to all, including Neil Cosgrove and John Kelly on logistics, as well as the many members who helped
get the word out to family and friends to sell tickets.
Similarly, a “well done” to Pete Dunne, Larry DeGennaro and the team for a mammoth ‘family fund’ effort for Christmas – again, more in the Charities section.
Also, congratulations are in order for Dermot Moore and a large team of brothers, relatives and friends for their Christmas Event for those with Special Needs. Special kudos to the group for re-imagining how to pull it off in a pandemic, and for all the heavy lifting stage it outdoors (and in
a parking lot).
On the “business end” of things, at our last Division meeting, elections were held, and the full board of Officers was re-elected for the upcoming year. It is a privilege to serve with this group, and none of this would get done without their efforts.
Good & Welfare – Please pray for repose of the souls of brother Dan Callanan, brother Gene Flood, brother Fergus Mullany, Dorothy Boera (mother of member Bill Boera) and Elizabeth Van Wynen (wife and mother of members Quinton Van Wynen Sr. and Quinton Jr., respectively).
Please also keep our law enforcement professionals and military in your prayers.
As always, we pray that you and your family are healthy and safe.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Chuck Parnow
