We hope you and your family have been keeping well. When our last newsletter went out, we were thinking that this has been such a weak winter – what a difference four weeks make!
Our next division meeting will be held virtually this Thursday, February 25 at 7:30pm. See mail for a link to the meeting and instructions.
It’s been a relatively quiet month. Unfortunately, we did hear the not-unexpected confirmation in the last week that the Rockland County St. Patrick’s Day parade was being postponed until next
year.
A couple of items (covered later in the newsletter) highlighted here:
- Our Future: AOH Scholarship – applications are due on February 26 (this Friday!), so if you have a high school senior, look closely at this item.
- Our Faith – During Lent, the Ladies’ Division will be conducting a Fish Fry each Friday. Please see their article and come on down to the Hibernian on Fridays.
- Our Heritage – We are on the cusp of March, once again recognized as Irish American Heritage Month. Please see Neil’s article on the topic, following, and pay attention to the various emails we distribute that come from our National Board. There are a variety of ways that each of us can learn more about our heritage and current events in Ireland. And, while we push the Irish History articles for those HS seniors looking towards the scholarship process, it is a great opportunity to work with all your children on learning more about their culture and their heritage. Check in at https://aoh.com for a full calendar of virtual events, links to great videos and much more.
Good & Welfare – Please pray for repose of the souls of Dan Murphy’s mother, Barbara Murphy. Also, pray for Scott Wheatley’s father, who took a bad spill and is now in rehab. Please also keep our law enforcement professionals, EMS, and healthcare workers in your prayers.
As always, we pray that you and your family are healthy and safe.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity
