On February 19th there will be a dedication and blessing to officially open the new handicapped entrance of Hibernian House. All are invited from 2 to 5PM. Blessing by our own Msg. OāKeefe, entertainment and refreshments.
As we prepare for this dedication of the new additions to the building we refer to as the āHOUSEā, it comes to mind members past and some present that made our āHOUSEā possible.
For an AOH Division to have a building to call home is quite an accomplishment and shows the dedication and pride of its membership. Although New York has many Divisions spread across the state very few are lucky enough to have their own meeting house.
Many more share a place with the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Halls and church basements as did our own beginnings attest to. One sometimes hears comments that there is a separation between Hibernian House and John Cardinal DāAlton, Div.3 AOH. This certainly was not the truth when the original members scrimped, saved and gambled to procure this place we call āhomeā nor is it true now as we celebrate the 30th anniversary in this building.
As we dedicate the improvements made here, letās remember and thank our members in the past that left this wonderful legacy to enjoy. Letās re-avow to work together for at least 30 more to further this organizationās commitment to Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity.
