Keough Visiting Faculty Fellow\, Barr is visiting Notre Dame’s Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies this academic year from the University of Aberdeen\, where he is senior lecturer in modern Irish history. Barr is author of Ireland’s Empire: The Roman Catholic Church in the English-Speaking World\, 1829–1914 (Cambridge University Press\, 2020). This year’s Hibernian Lecture is cosponsored by the Keough-Naughton Institute. \nThis virtual event is free and open to all\, but registration is required to participate. Registrants will receive a Zoom link in advance of the event. Register Here \nIn 1978\, the Ancient Order of Hibernians and Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians undertook a campaign to establish an endowment at Notre Dame for illuminating Irish-American history. DESCRIPTION:Dan Peterson and Chuck Parnow are once again coordinating the annual ski trip to Belleayre Mountain on Saturday\, February 1\, 2020. Our second drawing party is Sunday\, December 22nd.  One ticket gets you and a guest admission to our final drawing party and qualifies you for the drawing of our grand prize of $10000. Tickets are be available at the Hibernian House Bar and can be requested from Bill Lee by sending an email to mr.williamplee@gmail.com. \nIn prior years demand for tickets has increased due in large part to our parties and the fantastic food that is prepared by our chefs. Demand this year is high again so get your ticket now. DESCRIPTION:On Sunday\, December 15th we will be holding our annual Special Needs Christmas party beginning at 10 am at the Hibernian House.  We are looking for volunteers who we ask to arrive by 9 am.  This is one of the nicest things we do and an excellent way for your kids to earn community service hours.
