Christmas Dinners/Secret Santa For Those In Need

December 15, 2009 by Neil F. Cosgrove

SantaHouseBrother Hibernians,
Our Thanksgiving Dinner Drive was a huge success thanks to all of your support. It is our hope that we can count on your help again with the Christmas Dinner Drive. As with the Thanksgiving Dinner’s it is our intent to provide needy families in and around our community with a fully cooked meal. As you can imagine in the current economic climate, the number of needy families has grown substantially and it is our hope that we can ease some of the pressure these families feel at this time of year by providing them with a complete dinner for Christmas.

It is our desire to be able to accommodate 20 families +/- with a dinner. If you can help us please look over the list of items we are seeking and let me know what you can provide.

  • Turkey’s
  • Ham’s
  • Potatoes 5 lb bags
  • Sweet Potatoes/Yams
  • Vegetables (fresh or canned)
  • Canned fruit (Mixed or Pineapple)
  • Gravy
  • Cranberry sauce

In addition to food we are being asked if we can provide coats, sweaters, socks, underwear, scarves, hats and gloves for children (both boys and girls) ranging in age from 2 up to 16.

Thank you for your support in our effort to help the less fortunate. Please let us know what you can bring so we know that we have enough to accommodate the families.

Please note also that the Dunne- McKeever Christmas Club is still taking donations to put some Holiday Cheer under the tree, where without your help, there would be none. These donation are anonymously and reflect the true spirit of Christmas. Please consider donating.
