Because of scheduling conflicts, our next meeting has been moved up to Friday, November 13 at 8pm at which we will hold elections for division officers. Our senior citizen luncheon will be held the next day from 11:30am to 2pm, all seniors are welcome to enjoy some great entertainment and a roast beef dinner with all the fixings. Chairmen Jack O’Connor and Larry DeGennaro ask volunteers to please arrive before 10am, if you can’t make it then we can still use you for clean-up afterwards. The county meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 17 at 7pm followed at 8 pm by a joint meeting to elect the Grand Marshal for the 2010 Rockland parade and the Aide to Grand Marshal for the city parade. Bob Kreider’s lovely wife May has been nominated for Grand Marshal. I ask that all division delegates and alternates please attend to ensure our proper representation. Don’t forget to get your Pot O’Gold ticket and if you’re interested in buying a nice Division 3 jacket please contact Billy Lee.
Dan Callanan reports the following Good and Welfare news… Larry Kaine is recovering well with a new knee. He needed to relace the old one that was worn out by too many jump shots, Joe Byrne’s October 20th court date was moved back to January pimarily due to the Irish government’s lack of witnesses, the USMC has placed their annual Toys for Tots collection crate in the pub… please be your generous selves again as our own Christmas bobsie twins (McKeever & Dunne) will also be looking for your generosity as they prepare once again to provide some cheer to needy anonymous families. We thank all of you for the tremendous reponse to Jim Russell’s recent request for help for a family in need. Congratulations to members Denis Troy, Paul Whalen, and Richard Finning on their recent election victories. Please say a prayer for the peaceful repose of Dan Delaney’s mother-in-law Mary Alice Grant.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families. Go raith maith agat.
Yours in Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity,
Dermot O’Connor Moore, President
